The MINI SAS data cable directly connects the RAID or PCI Express controller to the SAS backplane of the hard drive bay in the server or workstation; the internal multi-channel cable with Mini SAS 8087 connector is used for the SAS controller and SAS in the workstation or server / Mass storage interconnection between SATA drive enclosures.
